QUALITY ASSURANCE/LAB/NETWORK ENGINEER
We are seeking outstanding and motivated engineers to enhance our software Quality Assurance and Network Engineering team in our Professional Services division. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Building software for internal and external releases
- Maintaining and expanding existing infrastructure used for software development,
- Maintaining and implementing automated testing infrastructure (e.g., Python, PHP, MySQL)
- Acting as an expert for application performance - understand and utilize OPNET products such as ACE, Panorama, SLA Commander and other tools to identify key components of transaction performance including transport (e.g. network), front end (e.g. web servers, proxy servers, load balancers), mid-tier (e.g. application servers), and back end systems (e.g. databases).
- Utilizing OPNET's software and your knowledge of industry best practices to plan, design, test, deploy, operate, and optimize IT infrastructures.
Other duties will include the oversight and maintenance of our Consulting Services network lab. As such, hands-on experience in configuring and troubleshooting complex software installations is a must. Familiarity with configuring routers and workstations in a LAN environment is also desired.
Qualifications

- BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related area
- Willingness to travel extensively, interact, and work directly with clients
- Strong Hardware Background
- Experience with Network testing
- Experience with Software Development Life Cycle
- Experience with GUI testing and Bug tracking
- Experience working on multiple environments – Linux, Windows, and Solaris
- Experience with C/C++ software building in an UNIX and/or Windows environment is highly desirable
- Experience with installer software such as InstallShield is highly desirable
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python and PHP is preferred
- Must be motivated to have an impact on our products, our company, and the state of the art
