Java Web Application Developers/Software Engineers

As a Software Engineer on the ACE team at OPNET, you will be engaged in developing, refining, and enhancing features in OPNET's ACE family of application performance management solutions.

OPNET's ACE automatically applies expert knowledge about how applications, servers, and networks interact, providing a comprehensive analysis of the end-to-end performance of networked applications.  Join an exceptionally talented team of software engineers at OPNET as we continue to define the state of the art and develop next-generation software products.

Qualifications
Here’s what you should bring to the table:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience writing Java web applications.
  • Experience with web application user interfaces.
  • Knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with one or more of the following is desirable but not required:
    • Creating graphical user interfaces via Swing or SWT
    • Experience writing Java web applications
    • Experience with web application user interfaces utilizing AJAX or the Google Web Toolkit (GWT)
    • Knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
    • Experience with dependency injection using a framework such as Spring.
    • Experience with a SQL Database such as PostgreSQL.
    • Experience with an Object Relationship Manager (ORM) such as Hibernate, or Java Persistence API (JPA).
    • Familiarity with server side MVC frameworks such as Struts
  • Attention to detail, good communication and organizational skills, ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work on multiple concurrent projects effectively with a team.
  • Must be motivated to have an impact on our products, our company, and the state of the art.
