Sales Development Program
OPNET Technologies, Inc. offers an exciting program for professionals looking to start their career in technology sales. We have a formal program that is designed to take a recent college graduate, or someone who is new to the technology industry, and train them for the fast paced, results-oriented role of a software Account Executive.
Our Program provides the opportunity to learn the industry, technology, and sales skills required to establish a foundation for a solid career in the IT industry.
Our Program consists of the following:
Initial Training
- 3 Day new hire training boot camp at OPNET headquarters
- Introduction to technology and the sales process
Product Training
- 1 Week Product Technology Course
- Hands on lab-based training on the OPNET Solutions
Mentor Program
- Each team member receives a formal mentor
- Mentors help train and will allow you to participate in actual sales close
Internal On-going Training
- Direct hands on training
- Regular product and sales training
- New Hire training objectives managed at the VP Level during first 6 months
External Sales Training
- Sales Training at Dale Carnegie “Sales Advantage Course”, or equivalent. http://www.washingtondc.dalecarnegie.com/local_courses_desc.jsp?cCode=SA
Sales Training
- Industry specific training for software sales.
- Advanced Training will also be provided during the program
Within 12 – 18 months, employees who excel in mastering the following activities will be eligible for an outside, direct Account Executive Position:
- Possess a solid understanding of the IT market space
- Develop the skills to prospect for new opportunities
- Demonstrates a keen ability to prospect via cold/warm calling
- Develop the skills to qualify active opportunities
- Ability to present OPNET solutions into new and existing OPNET customers
Some of our most successful Senior Sales Account Executives were groomed through this unique program. OPNET has a high success rate in terms of program graduates being promoted into customer-facing outside Account Executive positions.
