Aperto Networks is an emerging leader in the carrier-class infrastructure segment of the WiMAX equipment market. WiMAX networks support multiple applications
including VoIP, multimedia streaming,
web traffic and gaming, with varying QoS
requirements. To optimize the allocation of
bandwidth resources and meet service level
requirements, scheduling algorithms in
WiMAX systems must dynamically adapt to
changing network conditions. Aperto leverages
OPNET Modeler’s high-fidelity network
protocol models to develop efficient QoS-aware
scheduling and admission control
algorithms. Aperto utilizes Modeler’s realistic
mobility and propagation effects
simulation capabilities to validate the performance
of these algorithms in large-scale
networks.
